The Estate

Mr Thomas Henry Hope-Edwards commissioned Mr John Treasure to erect a mansion or dwelling house at Netley to the design of architect Edward Haydock on 6th December 1855. The original parchment contract can be viewed in Shrewsbury’s Library Records and Research Department showing exact details of the construction and materials used.

Mr Treasure, created a magnificent home and outstanding landscaped grounds for the Hope-Edwards family which, thanks to their careful stewardship and very little alteration over the years, survives today in a form which is close to the original design. Today the owners have restored the Hall and Estate to their former glory and share the paradise of the Estate grounds with guests who appreciate the peace, tranquillity and quality of this unique country estate environment.
The Estate grounds cover an extensive 160 acres, there is an on-going drive to improve the habitat for wildlife right across the estate with such measures as hedge and tree planting. As guests of Netley Hall you will be welcome to walk around most areas of the estate, however the house and gardens are private.
Holidays at Netley Hall Estate are available throughout the year. Many of our guests are attracted by the fantastic fishing facilities available, or the quiet strolls through the stunning woodland paths and beyond into the surrounding countryside lanes. On-site you will find  picturesque woodland walks, show-jumping arenas, fishing lakes and ample car parking along with conference and events facilities.
